Humor Me
Mary Poppins was onto something when she sang the song about a spoon full of sugar making the medicine go down. Even the most boring tasks can be made easier to complete by simply adding an element of fun to it. Take work or even home projects, for example. Most of them have the potential to literally bore you to death. Try adding a little humor and spice to those projects and watch the dreary turn into fun.
How To Add Humor To Work, And Life
If you are wondering where you are going to find humor, you should just open your eyes and take a good look around you. Life is full of humorous things, all you need to do is to stop and watch the world go by for a while.
Life is about one of the funniest things you will ever come across. It is only human nature to laugh at the expense of others. But keep in mind that, if you are going to make light of anyone other than yourself, it is only fair to ask the other person first. Or you may be the butt of the next humorous anecdote passed around the office or in family circles when the other person gets their revenge on you.
If you get the chance, spend some time with naturally funny people and learn how they make people laugh. Humor is catching. Spend time with people who are entertaining and fun to be around and it will rub off on you. Keep a diary of funny things that happen to you. The more you write in it, the more funny things you will start to see happening around you.
Listen to humorous tapes. Why not take your loved ones or friends out to see a stand-up comedian show. You will not only be popular with the people that you take to the show but you will see how humor can be found in just about any aspect of life and how a professional comedian executes his jokes.
Listen to jokes and learn to tell them really well yourself. This is a great way to create humor in a potentially dull situation and the people around you always appreciate a great joke perfectly executed.
Remember that life wasn't meant to be boring and the best thing is that we were given the ability to turn any situation into a better one simply by seeing things in a different light. Next time, when you are faced with a dreary task - even if it is cleaning the house, making that horrible public speech or sitting at the dinner table while your mother in-law serves you burned potatoes and raw steak - remember to add a spoon full of sugar to the situation and see the funny side of things.
